City Calm

As much as I love living in the city, there is just something that special about the calmness of a city at night.

Have a fantastic weekend.

Chi-town

When I said my weekend was busy, I mean it was busy.

After coming home from the wedding on Saturday I met up with Bri and Meta to head down to Chicago for the weekend.

First we went down to Ikea to pick up some things for our apartments. I crossed a lot of stuff off my apartment list. M left with only one thing...self-control like I've never seen before.

When we finally had our fill of Swedish goods we dropped off our cars and finds at our friend Dave's house in Park Ridge so we could take the train into the city.
There were many a shenanigan in the train as you can see above.

We walked to meet our friends at Pizzeria Due for some pie.
Uno's opened Due as an extension when the original building became too small for the business they were getting.

After dinner we roamed around the city to the water and then back to the train station. Needless to say, we were wiped when we got back to Park Ridge.

I guess that means it was a goooood day. ;)

F is Friends

This weekend was another busy one for me. I went to the wedding of two wonderful college friends Josh and Nicole (congratulations again!!)

It was such a fun wedding one--it was Nicole and Josh's obvs and two--it was a huge reunion for friends from college.
Sorry, no photos from the wedding--I was too busy running around and catching up with friends.

Many of my college friends are now serving the Lord all over the country as called workers whether it's teaching, preaching, or guiding. They are spread all over the country whether it's Florida, Houston, Georgia, Washington, and in the Wisconsin/Minnesota area (You'd thing that it would be easy to visit people in the WI/MN area...It's a lot harder to get together then you would think.) I even have a few close friends that are bopping around in China and parts of Europe.

It's always a bitter-sweet feeling after an amazing weekend like that. It's great to see all of your friends, but then at the end of it all you need to go home. Now you're probably like seriously, L, what the diggens are you getting at??

It's just that this weekend got me feeling a little sentimental. So sentimental that I went through photos...typical me. ;)
Many people not pictured--I just have too many photos--you know who you are-ya still loved :)

What I'm trying to say is that I might not get to see all of these people all the time--I might not keep in touch with all of them like I should--I might not be able to keep in contact with all of them like I should, but we will always have an amazing bond that keeps us connected all of the time.

We are all Christians, we all have the same faith.

It makes not seeing them all of the time a little bit better, you know, knowing that we are all together in Christ.

There's no better way to be connected.

GFC and Bloglovin'

If you all haven't heard already Google Friend Connect is shutting down at the end of this month.

I don't have GFC on my blog so you can't follow me on there, but I just want to let you all know that there are other options out there for replacing GFC if you follow it.

Bloglovin' is one of my favorite sites to use for reading and keeping up with my favorite blogs. All you do is create an account and search the names of your favorite blogs to make for easy, friendly blog-keep-up. ;)

If you do decide to use Bloglovin' you can keep hangin' out with me. And we can do stuff like this...

Come on...you know you want to. ;)

Follow me on Bloglovin'

*Out of town this Friday-missin' you.

Mamas Got a Green Thumb

Yesterday my family and I (except for RenĂ©e because she is still in Appleton; she's moving back later this month. bah!!!) hung around the house to celebrate Father's Day. We went to church and then had a late breakfast. Later we grilled out and sat in the yard. It was a beautiful day and just what my popp wanted. :)

My parents worked out in the garden and on the lawn yesterday. Their yard is so beautiful and my mom is out in the garden everyday tending to her veggies and flowers.

They do a great job don't they?

How did you spend your Father's Day?
