Hilton Garden Inn

I'm not sure if you remember this, but last December I did photography for the opening of the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Milwaukee.
In exchange for doing the opening they gave me a few free nights stay at the hotel. Renée and I finally cashed them in for a birthday a couple weekends ago.
{It was about tie! Those little certificates went through a lot of abuse and moving around. I'm surprised they were still recognizable.}

We decided to make it a weekend away and roam around the city the whole weekend--pretending we were Milwaukee Carrie Bradshaws.

We arrived on Friday night. After checking in we walked like baffled baffoons up to our room. I had obviously seen my fair share of the hotel before, but it still took me by surprise.

The hotel is in a perfect location downtown. It's right on Broadway and Michigan. A short walk from the Third Ward, Cathedral Square, the lakefront, Water St.
It was so easy for us to get from one place to another -- as you'll see.

We relaxed and freshened up a bit and then we went down to the bar for a couple of old fashioneds.
{If you can't tell--it's my favorite drink}
Then I took R on a tour of the hotel and we went back to the room to change for Bayview's Gallery Night....

  5. Wow, what a really cool old-timey grandeur that place has! The floors and stairwells are incredible! So cool that you were able to cash in your free stay there, and actually enjoy it after getting your sneak peek with the photos the first time! :D
