Sissy and Benny Breakfasts

Last weekend was pretty busy for me. I met with three groups of people, saw my old students in a production of Les Mis (it was amazing, by the way,) and traveled 270 miles and that was all on Saturday.

After a day like that it was nice to settle in at my sister's house for the night. The next morning we went to church and then had a nice food-filled morning.

It went a little something like this:

In  honor of Valentine's Day. :)

This, my friends, is layers of dough and butter.

After rolling it out...

you create little pockets.
Look familiar?

After filling the pockets with American Spoon Lemon Curd,
They are a Michigan company that has amazing preserves and other goodies.

and popping them in the oven, you get these amazing danish.

So flaky..

and buttery.
A wonderful pre-church snack.
You can find a recipe much like this one here (use the first recipe.)

After church we made Sweet Corn Fritters with crispy bacon and guacamole.

You can find the recipe for this on The Londoner's Blog.
We used salsa instead of hot sauce and pineapple-orange syrup.
Believe me, it was amazing.

As you can see from my expression here.

It was an unbeatable food-filled Sunday with Sissy and Benny-Boy.

Side note: There was a death in the family. I might not be able to chat with you all for a few days because I will be with family. Please keep us in your prayers.
