Mozzarella Sticks

I've been having a crazy craving for mozzarella sticks, but even just thinking about them I can hear my arteries clogging.

Pardon the photos...I took them with the cellphone.

Today, I was looking in the freezer and I found some filo (phyllo) dough and I knew I hit the jackpot.

All you need is filo dough, string cheese (I used low-fat) and water. First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Then begin making the cheesy canons. I used one sheet of dough per string cheese. Roll out the dough lay that puppy in there and toss some oregano and garlic in with it.

Nail colors: Sea foam is Anna by Urban Outfitters
I painted the full nail with Anna then I did a little slanty-slant with Wallis

Roll 'em up like a little cheesy cocoon.

Put them on a baking sheet and bake them for 17 minutes.

Yummmmm. My brother ate his with marinara sauce.

I ate mine with tomato soup.

So delicious.
The best part about it:
Low-fat string cheese: 50 calories
One sheet of filo dough: 30 calories
Grand total: 80 calories per mozz stick

Like I said...Jackpot!
